About me
I am from Xalapa, Ver Mexico born in March 1947.
I studied painting for 4 years with the Ramon Alba de la Canal as my mentor and a year of specialization in the faculty of fine arts at Universidad Veracruzana, having as thesis director MA. Carlos Jurado del Mar.
I have imparted painting lessons during 35 years at Universidad Veracruzana, I have done 50 collective art exhibitions and 13 individual art exhibitions both in Xalapa and in different places in the Mexican republic.
I have dabbled in art movements as realism, surrealism, cubism, impressionism, expressionism, abstractism, conceptual art, in sculpture and object art. During this raid, I have experienced with materials as plastic, wood, straws, balloons, metals, hinges, etc. I mention these resources to emphasize my interest towards experimentation, which give place to a series of paintings with different language in what refers to solution.
In this way my proposal combines elements and solutions from various artistic movements typical of the contemporary age, vanguard and posmodernity. Through various solutions it is given an unprecedented style, which I consider it is thanks to the combination and appropriation that I have been able to diversify the pictorial concept.

In my paintings, I appropriate the renaissance iconography, such images as from Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Giorgione, and Tiziano, in order to ponder the role of women in history. I intend to give a new meaning to the main characters in the paintings of the Italian masters, this is done by removing or adding elements such as landscape or objects, providing the quote of a new reading.
